When Transformational Work Transforms The Practitioner
Updated: Sep 1

I came to Transformational Tantra Massage understanding that it was a path of development for myself, and I had no idea where it would take me.
Moving into client practice felt like the next stage of that journey — an opportunity to take what I had learned into connection with real people, while continuing my own growth alongside it.
Over the past four years, that is exactly what has happened.
Tantra has profoundly changed my relationship with my body, sexuality, intimacy, boundaries, pleasure, energy and connection. Client practice has deepened that process. It has shown me my edges, challenged my assumptions and asked me to become increasingly clear about what feels true and congruent for me.
One of the things I have come to understand is why practitioners in transformational fields sometimes change direction dramatically, or seem to disappear altogether.
I can only speak from my own experience, but the deeper I have gone into this work, the more I have changed. And now I have found that I have changed so much that continuing to offer the work, in the way I once did, no longer feels appropriate or true to myself.
That is where I find myself now.
One of my clearest learnings from working predominantly with men has been how great the need is for spaces where male sexuality can simply exist — where men can express and explore this part of themselves openly and without shame.
For a long time, I felt that tantra needed to provide that space.
I still believe deeply in the need itself. What has changed is my understanding of my own role in meeting it.
I have come to recognise that not every man seeking sexual expression needs, or indeed wants, a therapeutic or transformational process. There are now other spaces, including platforms such as AdultWork, operating through a very different model: less formal, more readily accessible and without the advance scheduling and therapeutic container that have necessarily been part of my practice.
My work is moving in the other direction.
I find myself increasingly drawn towards the deeper therapeutic potential of everything I have learned — bringing conversation, embodied work, spirituality and integration together rather than offering tantra as a destination in itself.
And so, for me, Aurora Tantra feels complete.
This isn't a rejection of the path. In many ways, it feels like the result of having followed it.
For anyone beginning their own journey into Transformational Tantra Massage, I wholeheartedly recommend exploring the training offered through TTM and Sacred Light. My own journey through this work has been extraordinary, and I remain deeply grateful for where it has taken me.
What remains
I am not turning away from everything I learned through tantra.
Quite the opposite.
Much of it has become so deeply integrated into the way I understand healing that I no longer experience it as a separate modality.
I still believe that our experiences live not only in our thoughts, but in our bodies, relationships, behaviours and deeper sense of ourselves.
I still believe that talking can be profoundly healing — and that sometimes talking alone isn't enough.
And I remain passionate about supporting other people in their search for self-knowledge, inner peace and fulfilment.
What has changed is the structure.
I am beginning to open myself to the possibility that this support doesn't always need to exist within a formal client/practitioner relationship.
Perhaps there are other ways of sharing what I have learned — as a guide, a mentor, or simply a fellow traveller walking a similar path.
A bridge for those who wish to cross
For existing and former clients, this isn't a closed door.
If the work we have done together still feels meaningful to you, you are very welcome to explore my other therapeutic practice, Emerge Holistic.
During this transitional period, a limited number of Simply Talk and Integrative Healing sessions will remain available through Emerge until the end of December 2026.
After that time, I will be stepping away from client practice altogether.
You may find that some things feel familiar.
Others will be different.
There is no expectation that you follow me there. Aurora Tantra may have been exactly the chapter of our work together that you needed, and if so, I am deeply grateful that our paths crossed.
For those who do wish to continue for a little longer, Emerge offers a quieter and more integrative therapeutic space — bringing together conversation, embodied approaches, spiritual healing and the experience I have gathered throughout this extraordinary journey.
Aurora Tantra will remain here for a while as an archive and a bridge.
And then, in time, I will let it go.
With enormous gratitude to everyone who trusted me, taught me, challenged me and allowed me to accompany them through a small part of their own journey.
Thank you.
